Stacking The Odds of Deliciousness In Your Favour
The Knorr Naturally Tasty recipe mixes are ridiculously versatile - hence I'm using it with pork today.
Crumbing meats or veg is super easy and really elevates the item into a whole new realm of crispy deliciousness.
... and now for the inside...
Crispy Pork Sandwich
Cooking time: 20 mins
Prep time: 30 mins
¼ purple cabbage
½ lemon, juiced
salt and pepper, to taste
8 slices white bread
4 pieces pork rib eye steaks
1 packet Knorr Naturally Tasty Beef Tagine
50g bread flour
15ml vegetable oil
Thinly slice the purple cabbage and set aside. Mash the avocado with the lemon juice and salt and pepper. Cut the crusts off the bread and place two slices in a medium heated pan with a quarter of the butter and lightly toast until golden brown. Repeat until all the bread is toasted. Place each piece of pork between two pieces of plastic wrap and bash with a rolling pin or heavy bottle until flattened. This is going to help them cook quickly.
Combine the Knorr Naturally Tasty Beef Tagine with the flour in one bowl and mix, the eggs in a second bowl and whisk and lastly the breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
Dip the pork pieces in the egg, then the flour mix, then return to the egg and lastly the breadcrumbs. Repeat until all the pork pieces are crumbed.
Place the oil in a frying pan and fry the pork pieces until golden, roughly 3 minutes on each side. To make the sandwich, spread mayonnaise on a piece of toast, top with a piece of pork, mashed avocado, purple cabbage and another piece of toast and enjoy.
